Tonewielder - Drift Away

Life's become a boring routine
And I'm stuck here like a rooted tree
Vain expectations has choked my dreams
One sunny day, then weeks of rain
Amidst trusses and construction cranes
Feels like living in an enormous jail
I drift away to the plains
Where fresh winds blows
And cornice frowns from high above
I seek relief - a chance to breath
Icicles crowns the ancient trees
There's endless snowfall
Or so it seems
Beneath this crystal-white
Celestial dome
Someone just pulled my head
Straight down, down from the clouds
Now I'm falling like a mustard seed

On hard ground
Square blocks of steel and cement
Here I am consumed by my rent
Wondering how I could
Become this mess
I drift away to the plains
Where fresh winds blows
And cornice frowns from high above
I seek relief - a chance to breath
Icicles crowns the ancient trees
There's endless snowfall
Or so it seems
Beneath this crystal-white
Celestial dome
